GENERAL SUMMARY: The Instructional Designer & Training Consultant will report to the Director of Learning and Development and be responsible for creating engaging learning solutions, environment, and experiences for clinical and non-clinical learners. This position is remote with occasional onsite meetings located in Southeast, Michigan. Responsibilities include partnering with colleagues and stakeholders to develop and launch a variety of integrated learning and development programs, tools, and collaborative practices that include formal and informal technology-enabled collaborative solutions as part of the talent management life cycle. The Instructional Designer & Training Consultant is responsible for the development of courses and execution of projects to achieve strategic business objectives to improve performance, engagement, and development. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiar with typical instructional design tools such as: Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, or Acrobat Pro.), Camtasia, SnagIT, Audacity, Vyond, Animaker, etc. to quickly design learner-centric, engaging, and interactive learning solutions, while applying industry standard methodologies (e.g., ADDIE).
- Partners with SMEs, internal clients, and consultants to analyze and assess learning requests, make recommendations, develop learning objectives, and content that aligns with course objectives and content development.
- Determines appropriate instructional methodologies and formats.
- Facilitates instructor led (ILT) and virtual-led classes with knowledge of adult learning theory and practice, facilitation, and training techniques.
- Responsible for the design and development of course materials, interactive and multimedia technology-driven components, and other support materials during learning development
- Selects appropriate media for delivery (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, virtual, blended) to ensure that learning needs are met effectively and efficiently.
- Design, develop and creates materials such as eLearning, participant and facilitator guides, instructor-led training materials, workbooks, job aids, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, webcasts, micro learning, and knowledge assessments.
- Manages the planning, design, and implementation/delivery of all learning and development requirements.
- Evaluates the success of training programs in terms of learning outcomes, performance change and business impact.
- Experience with the Cornerstone learning experience platform (LMS/LXP) to add, manage, and suggest learner content for customers (preferred)
- On-site, in-person, meetings may be required, as needed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning or Adult Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Learning Design, or related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience in instructional design, development, and implementing instructor-led and eLearning products in a professional environment required.
- Participates on various Human Resources or system-wide project teams to develop new initiatives and programs aimed at improving organizational and employee effectiveness.
- Collaborates with other learning and development consultants, leadership development consultants, and organizational effectiveness (OE) partners to support one another, while working as a team to review projects, and provide creative learning solutions.
