The Construction Engineer 3 is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of construction and maintenance projects are executed in full conformance with the Approved Project Documents by monitoring facility maintenance and construction activities. This is accomplished by providing input during scoping, design, execution, and project closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified. Construction Engineers expedite project execution by identifying issues, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance to the constructor through approved procedures. At the level 3 position, leadership experience is a requirement. What You Need * Demonstrated expert knowledge of construction engineering principles. Education Experience for the Construction Engineer 3 Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and 6 years of practical work experience OR 14 years of industry experience. Current registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable. This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job. Desired Qualifications: * Expert organizational skills for field engineering oversight and statusing of multiple simultaneous construction projects. * Proficient at reviewing field material purchase requisitions through material take-off, including the review of estimated quantities and ensuring compliance with design specifications and drawings. | |
