IT Field Systems Administrator
Irwindale, CA (Hybrid Option Available) | Full-Time
About the Role
Rize Federal Credit Union is looking for an IT Field Systems Administrator to provide hands-on, mid-level systems and endpoint support across our branch locations in California and Las Vegas. You'll keep end-user technology environments stable, secure, and compliant through onsite support, identity and access administration, endpoint management, and incident response.
You'll work with a high degree of independence within established standards and procedures, resolving moderate-to-complex technical issues and partnering closely with senior IT staff on infrastructure and network activities. This role executes, maintains, and supports our core systems and networks in the field; it does not design or architect them. You'll report to the Director of Infrastructure and Security Operations.
What You'll Do

  • Field Systems & Onsite Operations: Serve as the primary field-based IT systems resource for assigned California branches, with support for Las Vegas branches as needed. Independently resolve moderate-to-complex issues onsite, escalating only when they exceed defined standards or authority.
  • Identity & Access: Administer user identities in Microsoft Entra ID and on-premises Active Directory in a hybrid environment. Carry out access provisioning, role assignments, and account lifecycle changes based on approved requests and security controls, and troubleshoot access, authentication, and synchronization issues.
  • Endpoint Management & Compliance: Manage device enrollment, configuration, and compliance through Microsoft Intune. Monitor compliance posture, remediate issues, and support encryption, patching, and configuration enforcement.
  • Security Operations Support: Act as a first responder for endpoint security alerts following documented incident response procedures. Collect logs, system data, and evidence for investigations and audits, and partner with senior IT and Security on remediation.
  • Network & Infrastructure Support: Perform basic network troubleshooting, including endpoint connectivity, cabling, switch port identification, and device access issues. Assist with network and infrastructure changes designed by senior engineers, and coordinate with vendors during outages and maintenance.
  • Service Desk & Operational Support: Handle escalated tickets from Tier 1 and contribute to shared service desk coverage. Document resolutions, contribute to standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles, and recommend improvements to tools, processes, or training.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with IT team members to ensure consistent support coverage across locations, participate in technology refreshes, branch projects, and system upgrades, and share feedback from the field to inform IT planning.

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, systems administration, or field-based IT roles
  • Hands-on experience administering user accounts in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and on-premises Active Directory within a hybrid environment
  • Strong experience supporting Windows-based desktops and laptops, including troubleshooting hardware, OS, and application issues
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting end-user devices and peripheral equipment in a business environment
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve moderate-to-complex technical issues using documented standards and procedures
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and escalate issues appropriately
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to branch locations in California and Las Vegas

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management platforms
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including device security and access controls
  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, switches, cabling, VPN connectivity)
  • Experience with endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender, Huntress, or similar
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices and ticketing systems (e.g., ITIL-aligned environments)
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or utilities
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent experience)

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based at our Irwindale, CA headquarters, with regular travel to California branch locations and occasional travel to Las Vegas; a hybrid schedule may be accommodated based on operational needs
  • Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for system maintenance, upgrades, or incident response
  • Work is typically performed in climate-controlled office and branch settings, and occasionally in equipment rooms, wiring closets, or under desks where space is limited
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to approximately 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and use ladders or step stools as needed
  • Periods of heightened activity may occur during system outages, branch projects, or technology deployments
