The Mechanic II roleis an advanced industrial mechanic responsible for rebuilding, inspecting, repairing, and testing electric mining shovel components and other heavy mining equipment assemblies. This is a component rebuild role in a mining repair shop, not an automotive mechanic position. The role focuses primarily on P&H electric rope shovel components, including transmissions, gear cases, crowd and swing assemblies, gearing, bearings, brakes, and related systems. The Mechanic IV independently performs complex rebuilds, troubleshooting, precision assembly, and inspection while supporting repair quality, safety, reliability, and accurate documentation.
