SUMMARY:
The individual in this position is primarily responsible for Programming, setting up and operating CNC vertical machining centers, and CNC lathes for a variety of materials. Setup includes loading and unloading fixtures, work pieces, and tooling. Machinists must be competent in G-code editing, adjusting feed and speed overrides, and offset adjustments at the machine to ensure parts are run correctly without tool breakage or part loss.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following, however other duties may be assigned.
- Safely and competently Program setup and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Setup jobs for One-off prototypes, first article and final production for short volume runs
- Source Material and Tooling from company approved vendors.
- Schedule Machine Repair when needed
- Assist Lathe Operators in Production Cell with any issues that arise
- Inspect and assemble components to customer requirements
- Competently read and interpret drawings, prints, and MBD files
- Efficient personal time management, organization, and task prioritization
- Commitment to maintain high standards of Shop safety, order, and cleanliness
- Participate in product and project design for manufacturing (DFM) meetings and discussions
- Mentor and educate technicians and engineers on manufacturing best practices
- Adherence to Mide policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST be a self starter
- High technical aptitude for handling hardware, hand and power tools, and mechanical fasteners
- First Article Inspection and in-process inspection using hand inspection equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals, good understanding of geometry and math relevant to technical drawings
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, Engineers, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Work well in a leadership role.
- Deal with peers, supervisors, subordinates, and others in a professional manner.
- Must have the ability to satisfactorily complete a background check and obtain access to secure US military facilities
- Must be a US Citizen (Per ITAR Regulations)
- Valid driver's license
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- MasterCam experience Required (Minimum 3 Years)
- High School Diploma required
- Trade school or manufacturing technical college degree is a plus
- 10+ years CNC mill and lathe experience required
- Haas/Fanuc i Series control experience required
- Conversational Experience with Proto Trak SLX controls is a plus
