Data Security Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud", but not everyone knows how to secure it. As a Data Protection Engineer, you know how to design, implement, and automate enterprise dataprotection capabilities that safely govern sensitive information across Microsoft 365 cloud services and cloud environments.

As a Data Protection Engineer on our team, you'll design, implement, and optimize enterprise information protection, data loss prevention, insider risk, and lifecycle governance controls across Microsoft 365 services. You'll partner with Navy mission stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, records managers, and cloud engineering teams to translate policy into technical enforcement mechanisms and achieve the DoD's Zero Trust strategy. You'll recommend tools, automations, and governance approaches based on your deep experience with Microsoft services such as Azure Gov Cloud, Purview, and Entra ID.

You Have:

• 7+ years of experience within the DoD
• 7+ years of experience with enterprise information protection, data governance, or cloud security with tools such asMicrosoft 365 or Azure, SnowFlake, or Databricks
• Experience designing and implementing secure enterprise data management solutions and data controls across cloud-based solutions and endpoints
• Experience with network security, IAM, PKI, CA architecture, monitoring, and controls
• Experience withdata architecture associated with the retention of records, eDiscovery, audit, andinsider risk detectionin regulated environments
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree
• Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have:

• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, or Intune
• Experience working within the U.S. Navy
• Experience governing generative AI capabilities with EDM controls, including restricted access, label driven policies, and data boundary
• Knowledge of APIs, Unix or Windows, Python, and PowerShell
• Master's degree
• Microsoft Certifications such as SC400,SC200,SC100,MS101,and AZ50 Certifications

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
