Overview

Looking for an internship where you feel inspired, challenged and empowered to succeed?

At Johnson Financial Group, our internship experience is designed to help you build a strong foundation for your future. You'll be challenged to grow, supported by experienced professionals, and encouraged to contribute in ways that make an impact from day one.

Johnson Financial Group is Wisconsin's largest privately held, family-owned financial services institution, headquartered in Racine with locations across the state. Guided by our values of compassion, consistency, customer focus, and community, we are committed to helping our associates, clients, and communities thrive.

During our 11-week rotational internship, you'll work closely with our Corporate Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management teams to gain a well-rounded, hands-on understanding of how these areas of the business function. Through structured rotations, you'll develop the foundational knowledge and practical skills that will prepare you for entry-level opportunities at JFG.

Our goal is to provide you with an immersive learning experience that not only deepens your understanding of financial services but also helps you discover where your interests and strengths align within Corporate Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management.

You'll gain experience in the areas of:

  • CORPORATE TREASURY: Assist with the deployment of a new foreign exchange platform, a strategic pivot designed to build a distinct foreign exchange trading offering separate from our existing foreign exchange payment solution through another bank. You'll also gain hands-on experience testing data for updates to our Asset Liability Management software. Asset Liability Management is a strategic financial practice used by banks to manage risks that arise from mismatches between assets and liabilities, supporting the bank's ability to meet financial obligations while optimizing profitability and maintaining stability.
  • ACCOUNTING: Assist with supporting the accounting team with day-to-day activities and gain exposure to the financial processes that help support accurate reporting and effective business operations.
  • INTERNAL AUDIT: Gain exposure to how Internal Audit evaluates business processes, internal controls, and compliance with policies and procedures. You may assist with audit planning, testing, documentation, and reporting while learning how audit insights help strengthen operations and support continuous improvement.
  • ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT: Learn how organizations identify, assess, monitor, and manage risk across the business. You may support risk assessment activities, help review risk data and reports, assist with documentation, and gain insight into how Enterprise Risk Management partners with leaders to promote informed decision-making and operational resilience.

Our program also allows interns to experience the history of JFG and its surrounding communities.

Beyond your day-to-day Corporate Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management experience, you'll have opportunities to connect, give back, and be part of memorable moments throughout the summer, including:

  • Connecting with our Executive Team during orientation and continuing to build relationships with leaders throughout the summer.
  • Giving back alongside fellow interns and associates through a community volunteer event at the Hunger Task Force.
  • Taking part in the Light the Hoan Internship Challenge, a collaborative project that brings interns together and highlights the true power of teamwork.
  • Enjoying additional networking, learning, and community-focused experiences designed to make your summer meaningful and fun.

Experience what it's like to work for an organization that helps you build a foundation for your future success.

Qualifications for Internship:

  • Actively seeking a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or related field

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills
