Senior Transportation Engineer

Location: Farmington Hills, MI

Employment Type: Full-Time

For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together, our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add a Senior Transportation Engineer to help us keep building.

Working with our Transportation Team, you will lead roadway and freeway design projects, mentor engineering staff, collaborate with clients and agencies, and help deliver transportation solutions for MDOT.

What You'll Do


  • Lead plan production efforts for roadway and freeway design projects using MicroStation/GeoPak and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Manage and coordinate project work with MDOT, local agencies, consulting firms, and contractors.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and technical proposals.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to transportation engineering staff.
  • Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates for bidding.
  • Deliver transportation design and consulting services for MDOT and local municipal clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.


What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of roadway engineering experience supporting MDOT and local agency projects.
  • Strong proficiency with MicroStation/GeoPak.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HEC-RAS, HY-8, and StormCAD is preferred.
  • Experience with storm sewer drainage design, pavement markings, signing plans, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
