The Bernhardt Furniture Company plant location in Shelby, NC is accepting applications for the Sewing department for experienced Sewers. Using various types of upholstery fabric, this role utilizes industrial sewing machines to piece together various fabric components.

Minimum requirements include
  • A minimum of two (2) years of furniture sewing experience (i.e. flatwork, cushions, pillows, borders, and/or single needle topstitching)
  • Ability to read and understand matching work tags/patterns to sew fabric according to spec sheets
  • Knowledge of various upholstery fabric types, fabric applications, and upholstery standards and tailoring to ensure finished product
  • Ability to carry bundles of work and sit at a machine for shift duration
  • Produce quality work
  • Team player with the ability to self-motivate to meet production goals/schedules

The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime Monday - Thursday until 3:30 pm, and 6:00 am - 10 am on Saturday, may be required based on business need. The plant is climate controlled.
