Job Description: The QC Compliance Scientist I, II, III is responsible for the qualification, repair, maintenance and compliance of laboratory instruments and software. Responsibilities for All Levels (I, II, III): o Perform preventative maintenance and qualification activities on laboratory instrumentation as directed. o Implement appropriate computer operating system permissions to laboratory equipment workstations in order to comply with regulatory requirements. o Diagnose laboratory equipment issues and perform the necessary maintenance to return equipment to a compliant functionality. Assist in other forms of troubleshooting as directed by the Supervisor. o Prepare acceptance reports for laboratory equipment. o Complete core training per procedures. o Adhere to the pertinent aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations. o Maintain and operate laboratory equipment to assure accuracy and confidence in performance. o Perform computer systems backup as required and ensure data integrity is maintained. o Create new procedures as needed. o Participate in direct internal and/or external client interactions. o Perform special assignments as directed by Supervisor. Additional Responsibility for Level II In addition to the responsibilities listed above: o Coordinate and lead group projects related to laboratory compliance and equipment qualifications. Additional Responsibility for Level III In addition to the responsibilities listed above: o Assist in training other analysts o Lead and coordinate implementation of improvements to laboratory compliance and equipment maintenance and qualification processes. o Stay informed of changes to compendial requirements for laboratory equipment and implement within the required timeframe. o Perform compliance related audits for laboratory equipment and associated workstations to ensure an appropriate level of compliance is maintained. o Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise within the department and outside the department as needed. Required: Compliance Scientist I: o Associates Degree of Science with minimum 2 years related experience for non-science emphasis required. o No Experience required With Bachelor's Degree in Hard Science. 0 to 3 year(s) related experience with Associates Degree in Hard Science required. Compliance Scientist II: O Associates Degree of Science with minimum 2 years of experience O 2 to 4 years related experience Compliance Scientist III: o Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science OR, Bachelor of Arts with 5 years of solid lab experience OR,AA degree in hard sciences with 5 years of solid lab experience o 3 years lab experience required with BS degree. o 5 years lab experience required with AA or BA degree. Additional Preferred experience: o Pharmaceutical Experience o FDA Regulated Industry Experience o Laboratory Experience (3 years) o Proficiency in troubleshooting instruments and/or a mechanical aptitude o Proficiency with Microsoft Operating systems as well as general understanding of software and database configuration. o Specific Coursework: Any emphasis in computer related systems Working Environment: o Ambiguous and complex situations: development of new solutions. o Repetitive/patterned situations: choices of learned solutions. o Routine environment with simple rules and detailed instruction. o Provides analysis, diagnosis or production tasks which noticeably impact end results o Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted o Exposure to Allergens o Repetitive Activity o Prolonged sitting and standing Location: Spokane, WA - On Site, Full- -Time Shift: Weekday Days Compensation & Benefits That Start on Day One - Because Your Well Being Matters Hiring Wage: Compliance Scientist I: $28.81-$38.96/hourly, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises. Compliance Scientist II $32.01-$43.30/hourly, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
