Summary

Spire is seeking a Field Measurement Supervisor. As a Supervisor, you will direct and manage the day to day work performed to install, maintain, and replace Electronic Commercial and Industrial meters. In this role, you will directly supervise Spire employees performing this work across multiple Spire locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of plans to ensure the health and safety of all employees in the department.
  • Provide leadership and support to transformational change that will occur with the implementation of advanced metering technology for Commercial and Industrial customers.
  • Organize work for crews and ensure that the material, equipment, welders, and other necessary personnel required to complete the jobs are available. Coordinate the planning and scheduling with Workload Planning.
  • Inspect the job site prior to planning major projects and discuss/plan the job with the construction foreman, salesman, general contractor, and engineering before beginning construction and installation of meter set.
  • Manage employee timekeeping, sick reports, vacation changes, and all other paperwork pertaining to personnel and projects; prepare and provide weekly job progress reports.
  • Provide expertise and direction on various meter technologies used for measurement or accuracy testing.
  • Coordinate large residential, commercial and industrial systematic meter changes or field tests as required each year.
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of existing Commercial and Industrial meter stations.
  • Manage and supervise the prefabrication and delivery of large meter stations.
  • Train employees on proper meter and measurement procedures and standards.
  • Rotate a weekly off-hour call out schedule of availability - 1408 hours per year.
  • Develop departmental procedures and training material as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The current responsibilities are the direct management of 10+ field-based employees located across Spire.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 3+ years of experience in overall company operations, preferred.
  • Knowledge of natural gas metering and measurement concepts, preferred.
  • Experience working with Enterprise software applications such as Click, Maximo, and CC&B, preferred.
  • Previous Supervisor responsibilities, preferred.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Typically, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Shared office environment and occasional in-field training, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Additional work time may be required as needed.
  • Up to 25%of travel required.
