Role Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial success, and customer satisfaction of an assigned branch. This role provides strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of branch operations while ensuring exceptional service delivery, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and adherence to Visterra's quality and safety standards.

Working closely with Account Managers, Production Managers, field leadership, and corporate partners, the Branch Manager oversees branch operations, workforce planning, financial performance, customer relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is accountable for driving revenue growth, profitability, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams while ensuring the branch consistently delivers outstanding service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of branch operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable service delivery.
  • Drive branch financial performance by managing budgets, controlling expenses, monitoring labor and equipment costs, and achieving revenue and profitability goals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for branch employees, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Account Managers and Production Managers to ensure exceptional customer service, contract execution, and long-term client retention.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Ensure projects and services are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Monitor production efficiency, labor utilization, equipment usage, and operational performance while implementing process improvements.
  • Conduct regular field visits to evaluate quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by proactively addressing concerns and identifying opportunities to expand services.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations leadership to support business development, contract renewals, and organic growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Prepare and present operational and financial reports while utilizing performance metrics to improve branch performance.
  • Oversee branch assets, equipment, inventory, subcontractors, and operational resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Landscape Management, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in commercial landscaping, construction, facilities management, or a related service industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing branch operations, financial performance, and operational budgets.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, employee development, and team-building skills.
  • Experience managing multiple operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, job costing, scheduling, labor management, and operational planning.
  • Excellent customer relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze business performance metrics and implement operational improvements.
  • Working knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance, enhancements, irrigation, construction, or related services preferred.
  • Experience utilizing business management software such as Aspire or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
