Position Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Work Location: Cary, NC 27513
Assignment Duration: 4+ months (Potential Conversion)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Every other Saturday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (maximum 3-4 hour timeframe). Saturday work is flexible and often voluntary for anyone interested in overtime. If someone has appointments during the week, time can be made up on Saturday to equal 40 hours per week. Typically, the team works until the work is finished and this may exceed 6 pm.
Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary: The Distribution Coordinator/ Pharmacy Assistant will assist with packaging and shipping of the drugs, supplies, and patient information according to company policies, procedures, and state board of pharmacy regulations. Background & Context: Supports packaging and shipping operations for The Organization. Key Responsibilities:
* Prepares medications for shipment to ensure integrity, sterility, and stability of drugs and supplies.
* Electronically tracks shipments to confirm on-time delivery throughout the day, Monday - Saturday, until all packages are delivered.
* Follow all designated checklists supplied with an attention to detail.
* Coordinates the dissemination of information to patients (regarding holiday closings and unscheduled closings) via package inserts as approved by manager.
* Reviews shipping manifests daily to confirm delivery address and delivery times.
* Works closely with Pharmacy team regarding start dates, demographic information, and alternate shipping addresses.
* Reconciles carrier invoices with shipping manifest for accuracy in billing.
* Provides weekly shipping abstracts and usage reports to supervisor.
* Resets shipping room at the end of each day (prepare for the next business day)
* Maintain and keep clean the packing area and distribution area by sweeping and moping as needed.
* Handles discarding of trash and breaking down cardboard and placing in appropriate trach bins to help maintain a clean work environment.
* Assist with unloading daily inbound trucks, stage packages for pick up for all carriers. This may include stagging packed shipments on carts or pallets. Qualification & Experience:
* HS diploma required.
* Minimum one year of experience in shipping and receiving preferred but not required
* Excellent customer service skills including
* Ability to listen and interpret people's dispositions
* Ability to perform under pressure
* Capacity for compassion regarding all patients.
* Experience with inventory management
* Fundamental knowledge of computers including the ability to create and manipulate MS Word and MS Excel documents
* Excellent time management & organizational skills
* Flexible multi-task-oriented worker
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Engage and interact with other team members daily to complete our daily mission Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Able to stand on feet all day. Additional Information: No pick line. Packaging orders. Excellent time management skills required. Attention to detail is paramount. Occasionally lunch is provided if the team has to work through lunch (e.g., subs). Group birthday celebrations once a month.
