About the role - you will:

  • Support and maintain processes for our latest designs during off-shift hours.
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of cleanroom technologies, with opportunities to develop expertise in areas such as deposition, etch, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), photolithography, and other advanced integration processes.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to address operational issues, optimize wafer flows, and reduce cycle time and scrap.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and specialists from diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Investigate root causes of process failures, coordinate experiments, and perform in-depth data analysis.
  • Engage in hands-on wafer inspection, troubleshooting, and resolution of process issues with frequent presence on the factory floor.

About you:

  • You are able and eager to work in a mix of clean room and laboratory environments.
  • You have strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across shifts with a diverse team of engineers and specialists.
  • You are an honest and respectful team player, capable of working in strong partnership with a diverse global group of engineers and technicians
  • You are a well-organized multitasker, able to balance day-to-day wafer processing needs with longer-term development work.
  • You are self-motivated, intellectually curious, able to work independently and have a strong attention to detail.
  • You are a quick learner who can adapt to fast-paced development programs.
  • You are eager to grow and develop professionally for long-term career advancement.
  • Available to work a 10-hour off-shift schedule. Shift hours are Monday - Thursday, 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

Your experience includes:

  • Exposure to semiconductor processes such as lithography, etch, plating, film deposition or metrology.
  • Hands-on experience with materials and device characterization techniques, such as SEM, AFM, optical microscopy, etc.
  • Familiarity with coding or scripting for data analysis and automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Our Bloomington, MN campus (Normandale) spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $79,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location.
