Job DescriptionThe Advisory Committee Lead provides statewide leadership for the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of Texas State Technical College's advisory committee function. This role serves as the institutional lead for advisory committee operations, ensuring committees are established, facilitated, documented, and maintained in a manner that supports instructional relevance, workforce alignment, regulatory compliance, and employer engagement across the college.Working collaboratively with academic leaders, Career Services, instructional programs, and industry partners, the Advisory Committee Manager develops and maintains the statewide processes, tools, timelines, and standards that support effective advisory committee operations. The role ensures committees provide meaningful feedback on industry trends, workforce needs, curriculum relevance, and employability outcomes, while also supporting compliance with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board expectations for workforce education programs. The Advisory Committee Lead serves as a senior technical professional who independently manages a complex statewide portfolio of advisory committee activities and relationships. Through project leadership, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and disciplined operational execution, this role strengthens the consistency, effectiveness, and strategic value of advisory committees across TSTC. Three years of experience in project management, program coordination, or administration of multiple concurrent initiatives. Three years of experience supporting process improvement, stakeholder engagement, or operational effectiveness initiatives. Two years of experience in workforce education, higher education, employer engagement, or a related field. Two years of experience coordinating external relationships, partnerships, or public-facing stakeholder engagement activities. Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree. Four years of experience in project management, program coordination, or administration of multiple concurrent initiatives. Four years of experience supporting process improvement, stakeholder engagement, or operational effectiveness initiatives. Three years of experience in workforce education, higher education, employer engagement, or a related field. Three years of experience coordinating external relationships, partnerships, or public-facing stakeholder engagement activities. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, except in cases where a specific degree is required to meet accreditation standards, licensure requirements, or other legislative or regulatory obligations. This includes, but is not limited to, certain faculty positions and staff roles governed by state or federal educational mandates. Skills & AbilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to produce clear, professional written and verbal communications for diverse internal and external audiences. Ability to collect, analyze, and present data and metrics to support reporting, process improvement, and operational decision-making. Ability to interpret trends, stakeholder feedback, and committee outcomes and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including industry representatives, community leaders, and business partners, and represent the college in public-facing settings. Ability to apply knowledge of higher education systems, workforce development practices, and employer engagement strategies to support institutional goals. Ability to coordinate complex meetings, committee processes, communications, and follow-up activities with a high degree of organization and professionalism. Ability to develop, implement, and improve operational processes that support committee effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and institutional consistency. Periodic in-state travel to campuses or meetings beyond the employee's designated or nearest base campus may be required based on business needs and will comply with TSTC and State of Texas requirements.
