Ignite Digital is seeking a motivated Business Analyst to support a US Navy data analytics, cloud management, and IT modernization program in Norfolk, VA. This role supports missionfocused teams by helping translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. The Business Analyst will assist with requirements development, process documentation, project coordination, and user support activities across Navy digital transformation initiatives.

Position Overview

The Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders, developers, project managers, and mission teams to ensure that technical solutions align with business and operational needs. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly in fastpaced, missiondriven environments.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and organizing business and mission requirements.
  • Support analysis of business processes and help clarify stakeholder needs.
  • Help prepare for and document requirements elicitation sessions (interviews, workshops).
  • Draft business requirements, use cases, user stories, and related artifacts under guidance from senior team members.
  • Create basic process flow diagrams and visual aids to support requirement understanding.
  • Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and requirements traceability matrices.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) by executing test cases and documenting defects.
  • Provide logistical, administrative, and coordination support for stakeholder meetings.
  • Contribute to simple user guides and "howto" documentation for system features.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and mission teams to support the implementation of technical solutions.


Required Skills & Experience:



  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and notetaking abilities.
  • Basic understanding of project lifecycle and software development concepts (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Exposure to collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Teams (preferred).


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field.


Security Clearance



  • Active DoW SECRET clearance required.



Salary: $70k+ to align with education and experience.
