Welder Education Requirements High school diploma or GED. Experience Requirements MIG welding experience (TIG welding experience is a plus). Candidates with limited experience may be considered if they have a welding certificate. Able to read blueprints and work orders. Ability to use measuring tools and operate power tools. Basic math skills. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift. Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment. Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures. Job Duties Perform primarily MIG welding and occasional TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and steel components. Read and interpret blueprints and work orders. Use power tools such as drills, grinders, and rivet/rivnut guns. Measure materials accurately using a tape measure. Assist in other production and shop duties as needed.
