Important: This role is based at our Westlake Village, CA corporate offices on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite per week).

About the Role

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting the Guitar Center Brand, you'll play a critical role in analyzing business results, building financial models, and delivering actionable insights that guide strategic decisions across key business segments. You'll collaborate with leaders at all levels and help drive financial performance across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and/or enhance financial models for reporting, reviewing results, and forecasting.
  • Perform variance analysis against forecast, budget or prior year.
  • Participate in the division month end close process.
  • Track expenses and review results with leaders.
  • Create financial reports and deliver summaries of findings to management.
  • Extract data from various databases and perform sophisticated analysis that results in actionable business insight.
  • Interact with management at all levels to facilitate information gathering.
  • Present financial information to the team and to non-financial business partners.
  • Develop strong understanding of the business and underlying drivers of performance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas, functions, and efficiency shortcuts).
    • Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
    • Skilled in financial systems such as Oracle EPM and PeopleSoft.
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Core Competencies:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
    • Sound understanding of P&L statements and underlying financial levers.
    • Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior experience with Oracle EPM, PeopleSoft, or comparable financial platforms.

Pay: $95,000 - $110,000/yr. dependent on background and experience. This position is not eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on the Company's performance.
