POSITION SPECIFICS

The education research specialist will support the work of the Education Resource Center at Penn State Greater Allegheny by assisting with the design, implementation, and evaluation of technical assistance programs and professional development activities that support career and technical education in Pennsylvania. This position will provide high-level research and data analysis support in conjunction with other members of ERC staff and the PA Department of Education Bureau of Career and Technical Education, to ensure that projects and programming are high quality and evidence-based. The research specialist will also create case studies, policy briefs, and memos that will advance best practices in career and technical education across Pennsylvania.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working with state agencies in Pennsylvania to develop policies and strategies to support workforce development and/or education initiatives required

  • Experience authoring research reports, policy memoranda, briefs, and guidance for government agencies

  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis

  • Experience gathering information from and facilitating groups of diverse stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

    BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

    This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $59,580.00 - $86,400.00.
