POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Extension Better Kid Care is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual to fill the Registry Specialist role within the Penn State Extension Better Kid Care (BKC) unit. This position will primarily be responsible for successfully reviewing and submitting online professional development courses into state registry systems. Effective collaboration with state agencies and the broader Better Kid Care team is a must.

This position is hybrid and has the potential to be fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Better Kid Care Assistant Director to submit professional development courses to state registries for approval.

  • Prepare individual course submissions for state approvals and ensure submissions follow state-specific requirements.

  • Review and revise as needed new professional development courses to ensure compliance with state registries.

  • Support the creation of new online professional development courses for early childhood educators and out-of-school time professionals.

  • Work with Better Kid Care authors to address any issues impacting course approvals.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders through meetings, conference attendance, and professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of content areas that are relevant for healthy child development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, vendors, and external stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
