The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a critical supporting role in the execution of large-scale public construction projects in New York City. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the APM assists with schedule coordination, budget tracking, procurement, compliance, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects valued at $50M+ are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with public agency requirements. - Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project operations, ensuring alignment with project goals, schedule, and budget.
- Assistin developing,monitoring, and updating project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
- Track budget performance, prepare cost reports, and support variance analysis.
- Manage document control, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate subcontractor procurement, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
- Monitor compliance with AIA contract documents, NYC public agency requirements, and project-specific standards.
- Assistin MWBE participation tracking, certified payroll review, and prevailing wage compliance.
- Collaborate with design consultants, subcontractors, and agency representatives to resolve issues andmaintaineffective communication.
- Support jobsite safety, quality control, andlogisticsplanning for project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, ora relatedfield.
- Minimum3+ years of experience in construction management, with exposure to large public-sector projects.
- Familiarity with AIA contract documents and NYC agency procurement procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (Primavera P6, Procore,CMiC, Textura, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with public agencies such as DDC, NYCHA, SCA, MTA, or DOT.
- Knowledge of MWBE programs and compliance reporting.
- Understanding ofprevailing wage laws and certified payroll procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
