The Opportunity:

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM) is one of the most industry-connected and forward-thinking hospitality programs in the country - and this is your opportunity to shape how the world experiences it. As the Director, Marketing Communications I, you will lead a talented team in developing and executing a unified strategy that elevates the college's profile, advances enrollment, and deepens engagement across a vibrant community of students, faculty, alumni, and industry leaders. Partnering with UCF Marketing, the UCF Foundation, alumni networks, and external stakeholders, you will serve as the strategic and creative voice behind the college's marketing, communications, and events - ensuring every message and initiative reflects the college's mission and UCF's broader goals.

Responsibilities:

Team & Staff Leadership


  • Lead a marketing team responsible for the strategic and day-to-day marketing, communications, and event needs of the college, including strategic enrollment marketing, editorial, website/social media/media assets, and event organization.

  • Manage the hiring, training, evaluation, and retention of the Dean's Office marketing and event staff, as well as event staff from units within RCHM.


Content & Communications


  • Oversee the creation and editing of presentations, speeches, and letters for the Dean and others who are representing the college.

  • Serve as the college expert in relation to current marketing trends.

  • Oversee the creation, design and editing of publications, newsletters, websites, brochures, social media, and other printed and digital media, ensuring they are on schedule, on budget, in alignment with college priorities, and within available resources.


Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement


  • Develop and manage a sustainable, strategic approach to public relations efforts for the college by acting as the college's primary point of contact for external media, pitching stories to internal and external media and providing information, resources, and experts as requested.

  • Manage and cultivate relationships with college and university stakeholders, including community partners, coordinating with them as needed for college events and community engagement.

  • Work in coordination with the UCF Foundation and Alumni leadership.


Operations & Administration


  • Develop and oversee the Marketing, Communications, and Events budget, including timely and accurate P-card reporting.

  • Assist with or manage unique projects as assigned by the Dean.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic marketing and communications efforts for a complex organization, preferably within a higher education environment.

  • Experience in enrollment marketing, student recruitment campaigns, or outreach initiatives designed to support college-level enrollment goals.

  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating across internal teams and external partners at all levels to drive initiatives forward.

  • Experience managing brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual standards across communications and materials.

  • Hands-on experience overseeing digital communications, including websites, social media platforms, and content strategy.

  • Experience supervising professional staff, including the ability to set priorities, provide mentorship, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
