Position Summary
The Production Technician plays a key role in the assembly of custom diesel and natural gas-powered generator systems and related equipment. Working from blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications, you'll assemble, install, test, and inspect components to ensure each unit meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems while developing valuable technical skills in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and assembly specifications
- Assemble custom generator systems and related equipment according to design requirements
- Install mechanical, electrical, fuel, exhaust, cooling, and support system components
- Verify parts and materials against work orders, stock lists, and engineering drawings
- Measure and inspect components using precision tools including calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Position and align components manually or with lifting equipment and hoists
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and specialty equipment
- Set and verify critical tolerances and clearances to engineering specifications
- Conduct operational testing and inspections to verify performance and functionality
- Complete quality control documentation and labor tracking requirements
- Identify and communicate quality, safety, or production concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments
- Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical school training in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
- Minimum two years of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, or related experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation preferred
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires regular physical activity throughout the workday. Requirements include:
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing stairs
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment
- Ability to work around machinery, noise, and varying environmental conditions
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator when necessary
