OVERVIEW

Provides basic patient care and support in a hospital setting under the direction of nursing staff. Prepares, maintains, and compiles patient records, processes physician orders, and supports the nursing team in delivering quality patient care. Schedule may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Schedule: 20 hours per week

Shift: M-F (10:00AM-2:00PM)

Location: Janesville Hospital, 15 Bed General ICU

Pay Range:$17.57 - $25.48

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.

  • Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner

  • Documents care provided according to standards

  • Maintains a clean work and patient environment

  • Answers the telephone appropriately and provides information or relays messages to patients and staff.

  • Directs visitors to patients' rooms. Maintains medical records of current patients. Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed.

  • Floats to various units based on identified needs

  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.

  • Starts IV as directed

  • Performs venipunctures as directed

  • Obtains blood/blood products from lab

  • Performs BGM's as directed

  • Transports patients within facility

Certified as a Nursing Assistant in applicable state with 2 years healthcare experience
