Description

Your Role:

Responsible for creating and executing service sales strategies that maximize profitability for the NA MACS Services organization, while managing an effective team to achieve service sales targets across assigned territories. Partners closely with Field Service, Technical Support, Customer Training, and Service Operations leaders to ensure the service sales strategy is integrated with the broader MACS Services customer experience and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop, implement, and monitor the service sales strategy for the organization, key accounts, and assigned territories, incorporating market and industry trends to drive sales plan achievement and address emerging risks and opportunities; align strategy and priorities through participation in NA MACS Services staff meetings, governance routines, and business reviews.
  • Create territory-specific account plans defining service value drivers, objectives, and tactics to enhance profitability, and monitors key accounts to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Service Marketing and Product Management to identify, develop, and price new service offerings that meet customer needs and support revenue growth.
  • Partner with Field Service, Technical Support, Customer Training, and Service Operations to identify service sales opportunities arising from service visits, support cases, and training engagements, and to ensure contract terms, pricing, and renewal timelines align with operational capacity and delivery commitments.
  • Set measurable team and individual performance targets aligned with business, service, and sales goals, and uses the sales management review process to track progress.
  • Coach and develop direct reports through call observation, feedback, and guidance on sales processes, pipeline management, and identifying business opportunities; complete annual performance evaluations per company guidelines.
  • Optimize service sales processes and uses data-driven reporting to measure, trend, and communicate opportunities, activities, and results, trends, and forecasts to NA MACS Services business reviews and Long-Range Plan (LRP) processes.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for service sales-related issues and critical decisions, escalating cross-functional matters to the Sr. Director, MACS Services - North America and collaborating on resolution.
  • Participate in service sales staff recruiting, including applicant screening and talent selection, and supports new employee onboarding and job-specific training.
  • Ensure the service sales database and CRM systems are properly maintained and that service sales records, transactions, and data remain accurate and current.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a business, marketing, or administration related discipline; A minimum of 5 years' experience in a remote sales role selling service and 3 years' experience directly supervising a team.
  • Travel to company and customer locations up to 25%


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:



  • Demonstrated experience using a computer-based management system or database while performing remote sales activities.


Prefer:



  • Experience in a Biotechnology instrumentation, medical instrumentation, or Scientific instrumentation related industry is desired.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a variety of facilities. Each person performing this job must have a home office environment, which is temperature controlled. This job requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $104,530 - $122,975/year, (Gaithersburg, MD); $99,304 - $116,826/year (Auburn, CA) reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, location, and qualifications.

In addition to the base salary, the role is also eligible to participate in our broader compensation package, which includes performance-based incentives. The total compensation of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, commissions, or car allowance.
