ABOUT THE POSITION

Position Title: Assistant Branch Manager

Position Overview: As an Assistant Branch Manager, you play a key role in supporting branch performance, leading day-to-day operations, and helping deliver an exceptional member experience. You will partner with the Branch Manager to drive service and sales goals, coach and develop team members, and help ensure branch operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational standards. This role also supports branch growth through community involvement, relationship building, and a strong commitment to member service.

Compensation Range: $65,000 /yr. - $90,000/yr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Schedule & Location: Full-Time. Typical shifts include Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:30PM, with rotating Saturday shifts 8:30AM to 12:30PM. This position is based on-site at our Syracuse Branches, position will provide coverage at all of our Central NY branches.

What You'll Do



  • Support the Branch Manager in leading branch operations and achieving service, sales, and operational goals.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen performance, engagement, and career growth.
  • Help create a positive member experience by reducing wait times, resolving concerns, and ensuring high-quality service.
  • Identify opportunities to recommend products and services that align with members' financial needs.
  • Support community outreach and business development efforts that help grow branch relationships and visibility.
  • Ensure branch activities follow applicable policies, procedures, security expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain required licensing and certifications, including NMLS registration, notary requirements, and support for signature guarantee services as applicable.
  • Provide back-up support across branch functions and respond effectively to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through inclusive behaviors and continuous development.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience, or 4-6 years of relevant experience in place of a degree.
  • Ability to learn and perform all functions within a branch environment.
  • Ability to obtain a notary license within 1 year of accepting the role.
  • Strong communication, organization, member service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous leadership or management experience.
  • Bi Lingual Preferred - Spanish or Vietnamese
  • Financial services, retail banking, or credit union experience.
