Projects will involve developing chimeric antigen receptor T-cells targeting hematological malignancies. This project will be performed in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Hayes, Department Head of Biomedical Engineering Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Nanotherapeutics and Regenerative Medicine.

Other project will include identifying genomic structural variances associated with leukemia incidence, focusing on leukemia's molecular markers. Projects will be performed in collaboration with James Broach, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor and Chair Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Institute for Personalized Medicine.

The lab will use human blood samples, bone marrow samples, clinical data, and publicly available datasets. We will also measure molecular markers of leukemia patients and incorporate molecular biology techniques including micro-RNA to correlate with leukemia pathogenesis.

In addition, candidates need to work on clinical trial management which we are currently ongoing related to leukemia treatment.
