Job Summary

The BIM Surveyor is responsible for creating, modifying, and managing highly detailed 2D and 3D design models and construction drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) tools. Collaborates closely with engineers and designers to resolve complex design issues, ensure accuracy, and support project coordination. This role also helps develop and maintain drafting standards, recommends software and hardware upgrades, and ensures precision in the preparation of design schematics and specifications to support successful project execution.


Essential Duties

  • Manages multiple site requests and utilizes CAD software to prepare calculations and plot plans for construction layout.
  • Collaborates with site personnel to define survey and layout protocols.
  • Completes all site measurements via GPS tools or Trimble tools and downloads any data changes to the VDC.
  • Works with field personnel to mark all points.
  • Prepares, coordinates and verifies as-built data in CAD software.
  • Conducts maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's Degree or a Vocational Training in a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience

Proficient in current design software, including AutoDesk Fabrication
