As a Coordinator within Sterile Processing, you will play a vital role in supporting one of the nation's leading academic medical centers by ensuring the right instruments, implants, and supplies are available when and where they are needed. Working closely with Sterile Processing, Operating Room leadership, Supply Chain, and vendor partners, you will help maintain the seamless flow of critical surgical inventory that supports high-quality patient care. Position SummarySterile Processing Coordinator performs a variety of administrative, inventory management, purchasing, and operational support functions for the Sterile Processing Department. This role serves as a key liaison between Sterile Processing, the Operating Room, Supply Chain, and external vendors to ensure the timely procurement, tracking, and availability of surgical instruments, implants, and supplies. Responsibilities include inventory replenishment, par-level management, purchasing support, receiving and inspection of supplies, cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, inventory analysis, special order coordination, and customer service. The position requires a strong understanding of inventory control processes and the unique operational relationship between Sterile Processing and perioperative services. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. The ability to move materials weighing up to 50-100 pounds is required. Strong communication, visual, and auditory skills are essential, along with close attention to detail and accurate documentation. Team members may be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood and body fluids, infectious materials, and other elements commonly found in a healthcare environment.
