Overview

Electric Boat utilizes hundreds of suppliers to help build the most complex submarines in the world. Electric Boat suppliers are located throughout the United States and supply varied products that meet our rigorous standards. The Supplier Quality Communication and Training Team plays a key role in the dissemination of information, positive or negative trends, and lessons learned across supply chain management and the supply base so that our internal and external customers are aligned and enabled to succeed.

The successful candidate will need to possess ability to prioritize and effectively manage projects and communicate clearly when teaching classes or presenting to suppliers. The candidate will also facilitate and develop on-boarding training strategy, as well as execute certification, surveillance, and basic auditing to supplier quality in conjunction with other departments that will be assisting the Supply Chain Management Organization.

    Identify knowledge gaps and help foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Communicate technical details, both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive team collaboration and the ability to work with Subject Matter Experts/Stakeholders across the Supply Chain Management Organizations to develop course curriculums.
  • Provide ownership and maintenance of Supplier Quality Curriculum Maps, Procedures, and Job Aids.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with peers and supervision for the development of new processes and procedures.
  • Execute department goals related to quality and attainment.
  • Schedule and facilitate various training sessions, working as both an instructor and liaison between SQ Supervision and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Manage multiple Learning Management Systems to ensure accurate record keeping and assist with tracking employees' progress and certification status.
  • Partner with SQ Management and Electric Boat's curriculum development team to drive new course creation, supporting the process from cradle to grave.
  • Work closely with Electric Boat's Workforce Development department to recognize trends, potential for training opportunities, and uphold companywide standards.
  • Distribute surveys and track effectiveness of SQ Training Program to foster efforts of Total Product Quality.
  • Perform Surveillances and propose opportunities for improvement of all directorate training courses.
  • Analyze current department procedures and lessons learned to support and facilitate the understanding and requirements of internal compliance in our workforce.
  • Support and deliver department mentoring and orientation, as well as basic, intermediate and advanced skill development programs for engineering, inspection, audit and assessment and supply chain management organizations.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in an Education Role or leading training
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Management, Education or a closely related degree
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience creating lesson plans
  • Experience developing Curriculum Maps
