Additional locations include Schahfer Gen Station/Wheatfield, Michigan City Generation Station and the Hammond LOA/HQ on 167th, and the Hammond CISC/GOC/EDCC Complex at 165th street. Successful bidders into this position must successfully complete Aptitude Tests per Article 10, Section 15, except employees who are qualified and currently holding the bid classification will not be required to take the test. Job Title: Custodian A Job Code: NP784 Job Summary Maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition; move office furniture and equipment; lock and unlock Company properties. Shift will either be 5:00 am - 1:30 pm or 5:00 pm - 1:30 am. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Dust office furniture, equipment, Venetian blinds, and light fixtures. Scrub, mop and sweep floors, halls and stairways; use scrubbing machines. Empty waste containers and dispose of waste. Wax, polish, and bluff floors, using buffing machines. Clean rest rooms and locker rooms; fill soap, towel, and other dispensers; disinfect toilets. Request supplies of low items from Supervisor and maintain supply. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, Venetian blinds, light fixtures and office equipment. Replace burned out lights. Move, transport, and rearrange office equipment. Keep sidewalks and parking lots clean, shovel snow, and maintain lawns and yards. Lock and unlock buildings, offices, and parking lots. Operate Company vehicles. Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to him during working hours. Keep assigned equipment work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions. Direct and instruct employees assigned to work with him. Assist in the training of other employees. Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices. Complete any reports and forms used in connection with the performance of duties.
