What You'll Do
- Identify and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and local/state/federal safety regulations
- Collaborate with process technology engineers to establish safe operating limits and design parameters
- Facilitate PHAs and HAZOP studies at appropriate project milestones
- Document and track hazard analysis action items to timely closure
- Perform consequence modeling and quantitative risk assessments as needed
- Develop programs to ensure OSHA PSM compliance including maintenance of documentation and audit-ready records
- Establish Management of Change (MOC) procedures and ensure compliance during design evolution
- Develop mechanical integrity programs for critical process equipment
- Interface with regulatory agencies during permitting and inspection activities
- Maintain compliance documentation and audit-ready records
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 4-12+ years of demonstrated experience with working with chemically hazardous or explosive processes and safety engineering
- Demonstrated experience facilitating HAZOPs, LOPA, PFMEA, and other PHA methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119)
- Familiarity with API, ASME, and other regulatory standards
- Strong fundamental understanding of chemical process hazards and engineering controls
- Experience with consequence modeling software is preferred
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, Electrical Area Classifications, and Fire Protection Systems
- Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and SIL analysis
- Familiarity with Incident investigation methodologies
