Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Program Manager.
We have an exciting opening for a Senior Program Manager position within the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicines Research Division. In this role, the successful candidate will work under the direction of Principal Investigator and Medical Director for Geriatric Emergency Medicine, Dr. Ula Hwang, to provide programmatic and administrative support for all geriatric emergency medicine research and clinical initiatives. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for a multitude of programmatic and administrative activities including assisting with the pre-award federal and non-federal grant application components, assisting with IRB submissions, preparing sponsor reports, managing budgets, supervising program staff, training new staff, preparing presentations and monthly reports for leadership, and overseeing large, complex multisite trials.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
2. Grants Assists in pre-award grant related activities such as developing components of grants applications, letters of support, Other Support documentation, maintaining faculty biosketches, and coordinating with subawards. Collects and organizes required paperwork for submission of the grant. Assists in drafting certain scientific components, such as the Human Subjects Research sections. Follows up and coordinates resolution of all issues. Oversees the planning of large multi-site research. Establish goals and objectives, training requirements, productivity goals and financial parameters. Develops forms and questionnaires and manages the application of research techniques.
3. Research Activities Facilitates the IRB process for all active grants, including managing continuations, modifications, consultations, data use agreements, and close-outs, preparing and writing grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations. Supervises research within the scope of established study protocol and overarching programmatic research coordination, including . Adheres to all human subjects regulations as defined by New York University and the federal government that pertain to research studies.
4. Project/Program Management With a high degree of independence, serves as the manager for multiple NIA-and privately-funded research projects including planning, implementing, and organizing all related meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually). Responsible for setting meeting agendas, timely preparation, and release of meeting minutes, and managing meeting outcomes. Travel to study related projects within the U.S. as needed such as scheduled site visits, national program meetings, or national conferences.
5. Reports Prepares sponsor-related annual and final progress reports and Interim, Annual and Final Research Performance Progress Reports. Creates Subaward Agreements, PSCAs, and DUAs in partnership with Grant Manager and Contracts Manager. Manages budgets for all funded projects including tracking expenditures and monitoring of multiple PSCAs and subcontracts. Makes decisions about budgetary adjustments that are needed to remain on or under budget for the funding year.
6. Project/Program Support - Assists in the onboarding, scheduling and training of all program staff. Directly supervises program staff including research assistants across sites to ensure recruitment milestones are met. Reviews workflow and recommends improvement if applicable to ensure appropriate cycle times and efficiency.
Works closely with research staff and collaborators to identify quality and operational strategies and aspects the study needs to overcome. Cultivates and maintain strong working partnerships and effective communications with principal investigators, study sponsors, collaborators, pre- and post-award grant managers, contracts managers, study coordinators, and government officials to ensure the safe and timely progression of studies and adherence to all study/agency/government regulations.
7. Participates in special Project/Programs and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work required, 5+ years experience required and 3+ years must be managerial oversight of a program. Candidates must be extremely organized, able to multitask & delegate, have superior communication and interpersonal skills and a close eye for detail. Progressive experience in program/project coordination, and strategic and financial planning is required. The ability to multitask and manage various programs and events and work independently is vital.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field. Doctoral degree or equivalent preferred.
2. Five years of experience coordinating Project/Programs or programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
4. Strong oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
6. Highly organized time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
7. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $101,493.51 - $145,600.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
