ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Business Development Associate supports St. Michael's growth objectives by identifying, tracking, and contributing to new business opportunities across federal government markets. This role assists in the development of proposals, market research, and capture activities while ensuring alignment with company capabilities and strategic goals. Responsibilities include analyzing solicitation documents, coordinating with internal teams, and supporting various elements of the business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification through submission. Reporting to the Senior Capture and Proposal Manager, this position plays a key role in maintaining opportunity pipelines, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is mission-focused, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will both lead and work as a contributing BD member providing support across multiple opportunities in our pipeline.

WHO YOU ARE



  • Possess zero (0) to two (2) years federal government contracting experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with growth platforms such as GovWin, SAM.gov, and CRM tools (e.g., PipeDrive).
  • Exceptional communication skills-able to synthesize complex concepts into compelling narratives for senior government and internally across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, ChatGPT Teams, Canva, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Commitment to compliance, transparency, and team recognition
  • Willing to learn and gain a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARs).
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Self-starter, and proactive, with the ability to effectively manage multiple opportunities under minimal supervision.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Build and manage proposal calendars, compliance matrices, and document control processes for each active pursuit.
  • Coordinate technical inputs across CSL colleagues and teaming partners, managing version control and integration of multi-author content.
  • Support color team reviews and incorporate feedback into final submissions.
  • Track and manage partner and teaming conversations, maintaining records of engagement status, agreements, and follow-up actions.
  • Draft capabilities matrices, past performance summaries, and one-pagers for use in client and partner engagement.
  • Track and report on business development metrics, forecasts, and win/loss data.
  • Contributes to the evolution of BD processes, including CRM, formal capture, and proposal workflows
  • Conduct research on customer requirements, budgets, and procurement processes to inform strategy.
  • Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and capture documentation.
  • Develop and present compelling strategic and business growth opportunities that may include market and competitive analysis
  • Monitors key government portals, notices and postings on a daily basis to identify strategic and tactical fit opportunities for Go/No-Go consideration
  • Perform other related duties as required.
