The Technology Business Partner (TBP) at Sage is a senior level, highly skilled communicator who serves as a trusted advisor and bridge between business leaders and technology delivery. The TBP translates business strategy into outcome-focused technology priorities, ensuring investments deliver measurable value, efficiency, and innovation. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, portfolio management, and delivery alignment.

Your new role:

Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Act as the primary strategic technology partner for assigned business domains, building deep, trust-based relationships with senior collaborators.

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization by translating technology options, risks, and tradeoffs into clear business terms for executives and actionable clarity for delivery teams.

  • Translate business strategies, objectives, and challenges into clearly articulated technology outcomes and investment priorities.

  • Serve as a thought partner to business leaders on how technology can enable growth, efficiency, risk reduction, and innovation.

  • Work with other Technology Business Partners and the Technology Governance Group to update and define the Technology strategy.

Demand Shaping & Portfolio Alignment

  • Partner with Architecture, Finance and Delivery Management to align demand with capacity, sequencing, and investment guardrails.

  • Ensure initiatives are dedicated, appropriately scoped, and aligned to product, platform, and enterprise strategies.

  • Coordinate cross-domain initiatives are coordinated and aligned to avoid duplication, fragmentation, or conflicting priorities.

Roadmap & Value Management

  • Co-create and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps that reflect business priorities and goals.

  • Support benefits definition and value estimates upfront and track value realization in partnership with delivery and finance teams.

  • Lead regular business and technology reviews (e.g., quarterly) to manage the investment portfolio, assess progress, outcomes, risks, and changing priorities.

  • Measure, track, and report on value realization, performance metrics, and customer satisfaction relative to technology projects delivered.

Stakeholder Leadership & Governance

  • Provide clear, consistent and proactive communication between business leaders and technology teams, especially during periods of change or constraint.

  • Facilitate difficult conversations by clearly articulating risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and constraints, ensuring alignment without escalation or ambiguity.

  • Surface risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early, enabling informed executive decision-making.

  • Bring the right technology leaders (e.g., Product, Architecture, Engineering) into discussions, ensuring strategic business goals are clearly understood by delivery teams.

  • Quantify and communicate the value delivered through IT projects and services.

Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional communication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence, align, and engage senior leaders through clear, concise, and outcomefocused messaging.

  • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous, or technical topics into language appropriate for executive, business, and delivery audiences.

  • Strong facilitation skills to drive alignment, resolve conflict, and maintain momentum across diverse collaborator groups.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and evolving strategies.

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of multiple delivery methodologies, Product Management approaches, and delivery management capabilities.

  • Experience with portfolio management, financial management, service models, and performance scorecards.

  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative inputs to inform prioritization and decisions.
