What You'll Do

As a Phlebotomist, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care and laboratory accuracy. You'll collect specimens, maintain data integrity, and ensure smooth communication across departments. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection using proper techniques and ageappropriate devices
  • Ensuring safe handling and proper collection methods to maintain specimen integrity and quality
  • Following correct procedures for labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the appropriate department
  • Maintaining the specimen collection component of the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Performing patient registration functions for courier specimens
  • Responding promptly and professionally to STAT, ASAP, NOW, and outpatient collection requests
  • Communicating effectively with departments and alerting appropriate staff regarding STAT orders

This role is ideal for someone who is detailoriented, patientfocused, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Education / Certification / Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or healthrelated experience preferred; onthejob training may be provided
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Typing and basic computer skills required
