Leidos delivers a secure solution to modernize Service Treatment Record(STR) access, processing, and delivery by integrating disparate military andcommunity health data into a unified digital experience. Centered on themySTR WebApp, the approach provides authenticated, role-based accessto longitudinal health records while leveraging existing Identity and AccessManagement services to enforce Zero Trust security. A phased extensionintroduces Intelligent Document Processing to transform scanned and PDF-based records into structured, AI-ready data, reducing manual effort,improving data quality, and accelerating downstream claims processing.

We are seeking a Sr. AI Engineer/Architect who will serve as a technical authority within the AI software engineering family. You are responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of sophisticated software products, from architectural design and source code mastery to the implementation of complex AI/ML frameworks.

Requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance, with the ability to upgrade to Secret if necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will lead the strategy for creating, maintaining, and scaling intelligent applications that define our software product suite

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions for document processing, classification, and summarization

• Lead the writing, testing, and maintenance of high-performance source code, ensuring seamless integration into the broader software release lifecycle

• Establish and enforce standards for model evaluation metrics, bias mitigation, and AI governance to ensure ethical and compliant deployment of machine learning solutions

• Ability to productionize models (APIs, pipelines, monitoring)

• Familiarity with evaluation metrics, bias, and model governance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a BS degree and a minimum of 12-15 years of prior relevant experience, or Masters with 10 13 years of prior relevant experience

• Minimum of 7+ years of dedicated experience in AI/ML engineering, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready models

• Mastery of Python and deep experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Document AI technologies

• Advanced proficiency with AWS AI ecosystems, specificallyAmazon Textract,Comprehend Medical, andAmazon Bedrock(or equivalent enterprise cloud services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess a Doctorate in a technical domain
