Leidos Defense seeking an RF Signal Processing & Communications Engineer to join our Defense RF Systems UAS Portfolio. In this role, you'll work on advanced datalink and communications systems supporting tactical and airborne platforms, contributing to technologies that are critical to national security.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where you'll work across lab, field, and flight environments to test and evaluate cutting-edge communication systems.

What You'll Do

• Support the testing and evaluation of advanced RF datalink and communication systems

• Analyze waveform performance, resilience, and real-world behavior in operational scenarios

• Contribute to lab, field, and flight test activities

• Help develop test plans, procedures, and technical reports

• Collaborate with internal teams and government partners to meet mission objectives

• Play a key role in assessing system performance and informing future technology development

We're looking for a strong foundation in RF, signal processing, or communications. You don't need to check every box. If your experience aligns with much of the below, we encourage you to apply.

• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of experience, or Master's with 6-10 years in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field

• Experience or familiarity with RF systems, signal processing, or communications theory

• Exposure to concepts like modulation, waveforms, filtering, or signal analysis

• Experience with tools like MATLAB or similar analytical platforms

• Hands-on or academic experience with RF testing or lab equipment is a plus

• Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly

• Must possess and be able to maintain a Secret clearance

• Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Nice to Have

• Master's or Ph.D. degree with an emphasis in electromagnetic theory.

• Experience with SATCOM, CDL, or other datalink systems

• Background in Electronic Warfare (EW) or signal detection

• Exposure to field testing or flight test environments

• Active Top-Secret Clearance
