Job Description




Adesta, an Allied Universal Company, is seeking a Telecom Technician II to support and execute complex telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for advanced underground utility identification, field coordination, and construction oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Support building inspections and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including 48VDC, UPS, HVAC, and generator systems
  • Apply installation standards and best practices for fiber optic distribution panels and related telecom equipment
  • Protect existing facilities by monitoring active construction and conducting routine cable route surveillance
  • Coordinate with ROW owners and internal partners to identify conflicts and support fiber-route modifications when needed
  • Perform routine site inspections and general facility maintenance, including housekeeping, groundskeeping, and seasonal support
  • Provide utility locating support across the assigned territory and participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule for network emergencies

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current driver's license if driving a company vehicle, or personal vehicle in the course of conducting business (e.g., client visits, attending networking events)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with telecommunications systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of utility locating processes for gas, power, water, and fiber optic systems with full understanding of JULIE 811 regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, construction documents, technical specifications, and diagrams
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to document findings, interpret requirements, and deliver clear written and verbal reports
  • Hands-on experience with ISP and OSP environments, including fiber splicing, fiber network troubleshooting, and field diagnostics
  • Proven problem-solving skills with experience operating bucket trucks and working safely in active construction and utility environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience at the Foreman level or higher leading and managing telecom fiber construction teams and field operations
  • Working knowledge of DC and AC power fundamentals and their application within telecommunications and network infrastructure environments

BENEFITS and COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $30.00-$41.00/hr + company vehicle and gas card

  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time is offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law
