Summary: As a key member of the hospitals' leadership teams, the VP, CFO partners closely with the Board of Trustees, President, and senior leaders to deliver proactive, forward-looking financial insights and drive sound, data-informed decisions that support organizational priorities and long-term sustainability. . Responsibilities: 2.Serves as a strategic advisor to the Hospital President, driving performance through revenue optimization, cost management, workforce efficiency, and disciplined capital planning and allocation. Engages leaders across the organization to build accountability, ownership, and alignment with financial goals. 3.Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal teams, external auditors, UNC system counterparts, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders. Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable governmental reporting standards. 4.Leads the development of annual operating and capital budgets and oversees the preparation of monthly financial statements, including variance analyses, trend identification, and performance insights. 5.Establishes and communicates short- and long-term financial targets aligned with strategic priorities. Partners with senior leadership to evaluate and develop new services and growth opportunities that enhance financial performance. 6.Leads monthly operational and financial performance reviews with hospital departments. Represents the organization in executive, board, medical staff, and community settings. Responsible for the recruitment, development, and performance management of finance team members. 7.Builds and leads high-performing teams aligned with the organization's mission, fostering collaboration, accountability, and engagement. Develops talent through coaching and feedback, promotes transparency, and ensures appropriate handling of sensitive information. 8.Drives and sustains organizational change by translating strategy into action, adapting to evolving conditions, and managing risk. Establishes clear priorities and executes initiatives that support long-term organizational success. 9.Delivers measurable results by applying strong financial and operational acumen. Leads the budgeting process with a focus on value creation, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement, while supporting high-quality, patient-centered care. QualificationsEducation Requirements: * Requires a Master's degree in an appropriate discipline. Licensure/Certification Requirements: *No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements:*Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of experience, with at least five (5) years of people management experience. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: *Drives resolution of complex, high-impact challenges with long-term implications for the organization. Develops innovative, forward-looking solutions that strengthen performance and position the enterprise for future success. Proactively identifies risk areas, capability gaps, and improvement opportunities, and implements targeted actions to address them. Demonstrates strong project and change management capabilities, successfully leading entity-, regional-, and system-level initiatives in a complex healthcare environment.
