We are currently looking to fill the role of Administrative Assistant/Payroll Coordinator. This position is responsible for the clerical and administrative support for the Plant Manager and his/her staff as well as responsibility for payroll functions for Branford personnel under the direction of Human Resources. This role will also provide Human Resources support to the Branford site, which includes handling employee inquiries regarding HR matters, supporting recruiting and onboarding of new hires, processing all employee data in GPS, providing HR metrics to local management and corporate HR, and handling all employee engagement and event planning efforts. Minimal supervision required.

Essential Functions

  • Performs secretarial and administrative support duties and process information into reports or documents.
  • Performs all payroll functions for Branford pay groups.
  • Assist with ASAT reporting.
  • Provides clerical support for Managers and/or department leads.
  • Support HR Manager as needed.
  • Responsible for initiating and maintaining purchase orders and requisitions to support team members.
  • Perform receptionist duties including screening visitors, telephone calls, sort and distribute mail, post outgoing mail for pick-up.
  • Arrange meetings and events including but not limited to employee lunches/dinners, travel arrangements, on and off-site meetings.
  • Responsible for any other projects or activities assigned which are in the best interest of the Company.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/direction.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer competencies should include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems; PowerPoint, Word, and an HRIS/Payroll system (Oracle, ADP, Workbrain)
  • Ability to proficiently operate a variety of office equipment including telephone switchboard, computer, fax machine, copier, printers and calculator.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Compiles and calculates various (weekly and monthly) statistical reports, statements, and summaries and submit them to appropriate departments.
  • Accurately compose reports and correspondence quickly and efficiently
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Have good team building skills and excellent people skills. Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be energetic and a self-starter.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Views safety as a way of life.

  • Previous clerical/diverse administrative experience of 3-5 years preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, GPS, and Workbrain preferred.
