The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing, introducing, and applying engineering knowledge to support transformer power components. This is an opportunity to work on engineering challenges related to the power grid. This role includes hands-on participation in engineering tasks and communication with various stakeholders. Under limited direction, the Senior Design Engineer will perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of an Electrical engineering discipline and an understanding of related disciplines to achieve objectives cost-effectively. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. The engineer will proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction. Typical Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Design, analyze, and evaluate systems to create assembly drawings, schematics, and part drawings. 2. Prepare specifications, proposals for contracts, Bills of Materials, control schematics, outline drawings, and assembly drawings to process orders based on customer specifications and standards. 3. Act as principal investigator or lead a group of engineers investigating problems, developing solutions, and preparing related recommendations and reports. 4. Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products. 6. Participate in group meetings and conferences; interact with internal and external customers to resolve significant technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and develop related action plans. 7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance. Qualifications/ Background: 1. Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field and 5 to 7 or more years of experience; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments. 2. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of dielectrics, thermal behavior, electrical stress, and the mechanical strength of assemblies and components. 3. Preferably, the candidate has experience in developing electromechanical products, particularly with power transformer components. This experience is highly desired but not mandatory. However, the candidate must have 4. Prior experience in electrical component designing, wiring schematics, configuration, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical devices. 5. Working experience with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software is highly desired but not required. 6. Working experience with Windchill data management or any PLM software is highly desired but optional. 7. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, engineering principles, and best practices. 8.
