Responsible for developing, delivering, and measuring internal communications that align with business objectives and engage internal audiences. Create and execute communication plans across multiple channels. Manage internal communication channels and use project management tools while upholding established processes. Collaborate and co-design with team members, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders to ensure communications are aligned, timely, and impactful. Review communications for basic compliance with established methods and guidelines under close supervision. Support communication tasks under close supervision, learning tools, channels, and processes while contributing to team deliverables. Perform routine assignments of limited scope and complexity with guidance and close supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, distribution, and measurement of internal communications aligned with business objectives and goals.
  • Contributes to small-scale content creation, project coordination, and communication effectiveness across multiple channels.
  • Assists in drafting communications that inform employees using clear, audience-appropriate language and tone.
  • Supports content creation for newsletters, announcements, intranet updates, and digital signage.
  • Maintains editorial calendars and tracks content deadlines using the team's content management system and tracking tools.
  • Understands project timelines and assists in schedule development and deliverable management.
  • Collaborates with team members to identify resources and ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Collects and analyzes employee feedback and communication metrics, applying basic measurement methods to improve effectiveness.
  • Seeks to understand business needs and how communication supports organizational goals.
  • Builds collaboration skills by working with team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Produce routine department communications on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis
  • Plan, prepare, promote, and facilitate department-wide events
  • Draft messages and talking points on behalf of executive leadership
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations for department events and executive leadership
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans in support of department and business needs
  • Serve as project manager for internal initiatives
  • Follow, maintain, and recommend updates to ETS communication style guides and standards
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements and efficiencies
  • Monitor and manage team mailbox and intake queue
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Internal/employee communications - written, web, visual, video, storytelling, PowerPoints
    • Executive communications - writing on behalf of leadership
    • Strategic communications - developing and implementing strategic communication plans
    • AI (Copilot) chat and agents - communications development and workflows
    • Microsoft Teams - event hosting and communication delivery
    • Staffbase - email communications and metrics
    • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) - eNet publication and maintenance
    • Microsoft 365 suite for personal and team productivity (e.g. SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Adobe Express - graphic design
  • College/university degree or minimum of 1+ years of experience in communications or related field.
  • Basic understanding of internal communications principles and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow brand and tone guidelines.
  • Attention to detail in proofreading and formatting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to feedback.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic content management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • "Smart Brevity" writing knowledge/experience.
  • Industry style guide (e.g. AP Style, etc.).
  • Navy Federal-sanctioned video production tools (e.g. Adobe Express, Brightcove, Adobe Premiere).
  • Adobe Analytics - intranet metrics and reporting.
  • ADO - project and task management.
