Join Our Dynamic Legal Team

We are looking for a Legal Operations Specialist to join our growing Legal team! This role will report to the General counsel. The Legal team is responsible for managing all legal affairs for the organization, including contracts management, corporate insurance, risk assessments and compliance, business filings, and management of legal issues as they arise. Anyone in this role will be responsible for supporting the Legal team's activities such as maintaining accurate and comprehensive filings, managing supplemental documents, and working across the organization to ensure Legal tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

              What You'll Do



              • Maintain and organize department systems for contracts, filings, and compliance documentation.
              • Lead data cleanup and migration projects and support tracking/reporting of key metrics, renewals, and deliverables.
              • Coordinate contract routing, signatures, and filing across departments using established workflows.
              • Support annual and periodic regulatory filings, registrations, and organizational certifications.
              • Assist with procurement coordination and vendor management documentation.
              • Conduct light legal and regulatory research and compile findings for internal use.
              • Support special projects such as multi-state compliance reviews and policy updates.
              • Manage scheduling, document formatting, and general administrative needs for the Legal Department.
              • Partner with colleagues across departments to promote consistent legal, contracting, and procurement practices.
              • Lead department level training courses and similar discussions to address unique legal and contracting needs.
              • Understand and respond to basic contracting and procurement questions as they arise
              • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements in collaboration with the Legal team to continually evolve efficient and effective best practices.
              • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Legal team databases and data archives, including timely archiving of legal documents consistent with CEE Retention policies and procedures.
              • Other duties as assigned or apparent.



              Skills & Knowledge, We're are Looking For

              Industry / Functional Knowledge



              • Basic understanding of legal department operations, contract management, and compliance processes.
              • Familiarity with procurement or vendor documentation practices is preferred.
              • Interest in nonprofit, consulting, or energy-sector work is helpful but not required.


              Technical & Computer Skills



              • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), particularly document formatting and spreadsheet tracking.
              • Experience with document management systems, shared drives, or contract lifecycle tools.
              • Ability to maintain organized digital filing systems and databases.
              • Comfort working with data tracking tools, dashboards, or reporting spreadsheets.


              Operational & Organizational Skills



              • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines.
              • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation, filings, and recordkeeping.
              • Ability to coordinate processes across departments and keep projects moving forward.
              • Basic project coordination skills, including tracking deliverables and maintaining timelines.


              Research & Analytical Skills



              • Ability to conduct light legal or regulatory research and summarize findings clearly.
              • Comfort gathering, organizing, and synthesizing information for internal use.


              Communication & Collaboration



              • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
              • Ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments and explain processes or requirements.
              • Professional discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.



              Preferred Qualifications



              • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
              • 3-5 years of experience in legal operations, contract administration, or similar role
              • Strong communication, organizational, with sharp attention to detail
              • Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.
              • Interest in energy, sustainability, or nonprofit work a plus

              Compensation

              Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the pay range upon hire for this position will be $31.50 - $34.00/hr.
