We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst. Located onsite at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA. The job demands a solid understanding of standard data, statistical, and financial analytics and business process improvement. The candidate will assist senior analysts who advise management on the effectiveness of government programs and operations or the productivity and efficiency of agency operations. Duties:
- Provide technical support for the development and management of the nuclear CMP and BAWPs and propulsion plant modernization. Requires coordination with various internal and external activities such as NAVSEA, Type Commander (TYCOM), Naval Supervising Activities (NSA), RPPY, PPPY, PPEA, Industrial Activities and Ship's Force;
- Review of Current Ship's Maintenance Project (CSMP) data to support advance planning efforts, CMP refinement and budget development;
- Identify and remove U-NNPI information from aircraft carrier P-OMMS CSMP files;
- Screen all work candidates (form 2-Kilos) received from ships through the Propulsion Organizational Maintenance Management System (P-OMMS) and edit them as needed to remove U-NNPI.
- Review a ship's Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP) to support availability planning efforts.
- Assist the government staff with management and refinement of the CVN68CL and CVN78CL CMPs and related budgets.
- Requires coordination with external activities that include NAVSEA, Type Commander, Reactor Plant Planning Yard, Propulsion Plant Engineering Activity, Propulsion Planning Yard, Naval and private shipyards, and ship's force.
- Develop technical papers; participate in meetings, conferences or discussions; and conduct analyses of historical maintenance data, as tasked.
Qualifications/Education:
- High school diploma
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to learn.
- (Recommended) Experience with U-NNPI, P-OMMS and CSMP programs and databases.
- 5 or more years of experience in Navy nuclear propulsion plant maintenance
- Qualified in a supervisory watch station such as CRW, CMO, LD, RT
Skills and Abilities:
- 5 or more years of experience in Navy nuclear propulsion plant maintenance
- Qualified in a supervisory watch station such as CRW, CMO, LD, RT
- Knowledge of the Navy 3-M system, the process used to document maintenance actions (form 2-Kilo), and the Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP)
- Working knowledge of the Propulsion Organizational Maintenance Management System (P-OMMS)
- Understanding of the requirements for handling and marking of Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (U-NNPI)
