Position Summary
Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.

This position is a Project Manager for the NC CEAL research initiative, one of 21 Community Engagement Research Alliance ( CEAL) against health disparities in all communities. NC CEAL is committed to strengthen communities across North Carolina by championing science-based resources, fostering partnerships, and promoting innovative, community-driven research to enhance health for all. The research initiative is based out of the Center for Thriving Communities in the Department of Social Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. This position will require the management of all project deliverables and timelines. This can include but is not limited to protocol development, IRB application submission, study recruitment and enrollment, data collection, meeting facilitation, and scholarly products. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all project-related activities are in alignment with the milestone-based work plan and deadlines are met.
This position will serve as a Project Manager for the NC CEAL project. This position will be responsible for the management of study activities and progress for NC CEAL research studies. This person will manage the development of protocols, the submission of IRB applications and modifications, the ongoing enrollment of study participants, data collection from participants, and assist in the analysis and dissemination process. The Project Manager will take business minutes, manage project files, develop tracking tools and processes, schedule meetings, and report weekly updates to the NC CEAL Program Manager. It is expected that this position will work closely with the rest of the NC CEAL staff as a team and provide significant administrative support coordinating communication, project planning, and finances with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will have community engagement and community-engaged research experience with underserved communities in North Carolina. The Project Manager must be able to manage a dynamic project, write clearly, and provide overall project management.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Publisher, SharePoint, and Teams.
-Ability to interact harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to consistently follow through and follow up with assignments of others.
-Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
-Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

-Experience tracking activities for reporting purposes.
-Ability to coordinate project stakeholders.
-Ability to apply behavioral and other relevant theories to the work.
-Ability to contribute to the design of surveys and evaluation of activities.
-Ability to clearly, concisely, professionally, and effectively communicate in writing and verbally with staff, faculty, and individuals in other organizations, including report writing and manuscript writing.
-Ability to communicate promptly and provide regular updates to multiple stakeholders.
-Ability to offer expertise on design, scientific writing, cultural relevance, and other core health communication skills to support NC CEAL in adapting and disseminating communication materials.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
-Experience in public health training with strong skills in health education, health disparities, and community engagement with experience developing and implementing training programs for diverse communities.
-Experience in cross-disciplinary teams, community-or stakeholder-engaged research, and/or health equity research.
-Experience with REDCaP or Qualtrics.
