68950 Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to support the needs of all Lower Plant teams by safely setting up and operating a bank of presses ranging from a 10-ton mechanical punch press to a 135-ton hydraulic press and adjacent 30-60 ton mechanical presses to provide punched metal components on a timely basis. Job Duties:
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a complete understanding of entire Trilennium product line. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Must be capable of reading a tape measure and precision measuring equipment. Educational requirements due to accountability of production require completion of 9th grade. Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Must show mechanical aptitude. INITIATIVE & INGENUITY: Individual must be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions. Need to be able to keep stocked assembly components and be able to determine when stocking levels are getting low and need to be replenished. Must be able to work directly with leads and supervision for special punching needs daily/weekly. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Under specific direction of the Supervisor and Plant Manager, where goals and objectives are established. Coordinate work with line lead and material handlers. Report any situations affecting punch tooling to supervision and maintenance. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving punch tooling and material outages that affect order shipments.Maintain proper production and reject reporting. CONTACT WITH OTHERS: Regular contact with crew members, other employees, lead people and staff members. Clear, concise communications skills are important. MUST keep supervision and maintenance informed of all issues that arise with machine or tooling problems. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve performing hand, wrist, and arm motions, must be capable of standing the entire 10-hour shift. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination. Some walking, bending, twisting, and stooping and lifting of approximately 34 lbs. Heavier lifting will require a "team lift". Must be able to manually maneuver heavy dies into the press utilizing the assistance of a second operator and a hydraulic lift cart. Must have good hand and eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools. RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: Damage to any equipment would result in a loss for the company. This position must ensure that all weekly preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis. WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to with stand heat in excess of 95 degrees. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura's Safety Manual. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. hi-vis shirt or vest, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety toe shoes, and ear muffs).
