The Westwood Ambulatory site is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to serve as a central hub for clinical documentation, ensuring critical records are accurately processed and routed to the right clinicians at the right time. This role offers a mostly remote, hybrid schedule (one onsite day each Thursday) and the opportunity to work independently while being part of a supportive, flexible twoperson team that values teamwork and shared coverage.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, meticulous, and comfortable working with medical records systems. Prior Epic experience and familiarity with medical terminology are a plus, and your attention to detail will play a key role in preventing charting errors and delays in care-all in a focused environment with minimal patient interaction. Summary: Responsible for organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding patient medical records. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, scanning documents, receiving outside records, organizing records and efficiently process information requests. Essential Functions -Oversee the organization and filing of patient medical records, ensuring accurate and timely filing. -Receive incoming records and process them accurately and timely. -Responsible for retrieving finalized Medical Record release forms completed by patients in real time. -Phoning patients if there is missing information. -Faxing over the release to the appropriate office and verifying receipt by fax confirmation. -Assure the records are sent and or received. -Manage and utilize electronic health record systems (Epic) for maintaining and accessing patient information. -Oversee the management and organization of records related to the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance program. -Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other relevant staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information.
