Summary: The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment to a high standard, supporting quality patient care. Patient care is not required for this position.
Essential Functions: *Maintain designated areas as assigned by supervisor or manager, including the cleaning of floors, offices, clinical and non-clinical spaces, hallways, common areas (such as stairways), restroom facilities, doorways, and entrances adjacent to assigned areas. *Sweep, scrub, refinish, polish, and strip floors utilizing manual and powered equipment, including scrubbing swing machines and floor machines. *Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting. *Strip and remake beds; bundle soiled linens; clean guest and patient rooms, bathrooms; dust and sanitize flat surfaces; empty waste receptacles; vacuum, sweep, dry mop, and wet mop rooms, hallways, stairways, and other public areas; wash walls; transport linens to and from drop-off locations. *Serve as a member of the MVH Storm/Disaster Team, be available to prepare for storms, restore operations post-event, and perform relief and clean-up tasks as needed. *Remove snow, salt walkways, operate snow blowers, and sand driveways. *Assist with moving furniture and contents between buildings and offices as necessary. *Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and workspaces, including storage areas and EVS closets. *Operate hospital vehicles when required. *Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed. *Lock and unlock doors, conduct security rounds. *Execute additional duties as assigned. *Adhere to infection prevention protocols and standards at all times.
