What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a skilled construction Supply Chain Manager professional to join our team based in Austin, TX. This individual will assist Sr level buyers supporting various large-scale infrastructure & Tool Install Construction projects across North America. The Supply Chain Manager will be accountable for successful execution of the RFx process, contractor selection, contract execution, and contract management. This individual will need to be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contract partners. Tesla is a fast-moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; eager to learn about Tesla's Procurement organization.


What You'll Do
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder support and cooperation on contracting activities
  • Maintaina high levelof industryexpertiseand supplier/market conditions
  • Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships; act as the first point of contact for contractual escalations
  • Identify and pre-qualify new suppliers by assessing their commercial and technical capabilities
  • Efficient execution of RFx process to ensure all project scopes are contracted according to the required project schedule
  • Review, analyze and clarify bid packages received from service providers
  • Negotiate contract awards and make recommendations to stakeholders

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in the heavy construction industry
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting a high-volume purchasing operation
  • Candidate should have some construction knowledge and basic ability to read construction drawings
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Bluebeam and/or Acrobat
  • Understanding of basics of construction contract standards and strategies
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
